Suijin was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela where she also obtained her degree in Industrial Design from the Caracas Institute of Design in 1991. The following year she travelled to the United States and completed an apprenticeship with internationally renowned designer, Mary Ann Sherr, a pioneer in the use of exotic metals in jewelry.
Suijin continued working with these metals in Mary Ann's studio which honed her skills and knowledge allowing her to master Mary Ann's techniques. During this period she also studied at North Carolina State University and the Penland School of Crafts under the supervision of talented artists such as Heikki Seppä, Marcia Lewis and Tim McCreight.
Today, her exclusive designs and limited edition collections reflect those experiences and are characterized by symmetry, architectural forms and modern simplicity. They are handcrafted using 14K gold, sterling silver, titanium and precious and semi-precious stones, including Swarovski crystals.
